A powerhouse of a person! I transitioned my career into UX under the supervision of Austin, and could not have been blessed with a better instructor/guide/coach/teacher/mentor (everything really!) — quite naturally, I came into the course with my head full of worries, fears and anxiety, but quickly found myself in a safe, creative space that Austin had created, where we were free to explore, experiment, make mistakes and learn from them (quickly).

There are plenty of things about Austin that inspire me, but above all, it was his genuine love for purposeful, thoughtful and delightful design that won me over. Forever pushing me to take my thought process, concept project and client relationship one step further, Austin never fails to challenge me to do bigger and better. I can confidently say that I wouldn’t be the designer I am today without Austin.

Adevinta’s L&D department - responsible for providing training to over 38 marketplaces around the world - tasked me with reimagining their education initiatives for a remote context. In addition, I developed and delivered a 8 week/24 video Product Discovery course.

Luisa Bell born March 31st 2020. Our hospital was suddenly closed due to emergency covid measures. We were shuttled in an ambulance to Charite Virchow. Baby Luisa was born 15 minutes later.

Austin has a rockstar quality, he is a cool and likable guy who is excellent in his craft and well connected. He is crisp, clear, engaging and insightful and a speaker and startup mentor. Very fun to work with and great to get to know as a person as well. He has participated in so many Google Launchpad events internationally that it's hard to single one out.

Carlotta Bell was born early in the morning at Charite Virchow Hospital in Berlin. Well I guess this is growing up.

After 3 incredible years in London, I moved to Berlin, took a drawing course, had a baby, and set up a design studio. Surprisingly decent at German, unsurprisingly bad at charcoal drawing.

Operated as the interim Design Lead onsite at the Financial Times's London headquarters to create an entirely new website and digital experience. Successfully evolved user research from quarterly focus groups to weekly user research sessions.

Trained seven designers, mentored two designers, and aided in hiring additional designers to fill out the team. Played an active role in designing myFT, FastFT and mobile navigation.

Redesigned STA Rail online booking experience. Conducted interviews in STA travel agencies and usability tests at Paddington Station to inform design decisions.

Audi challenged us to inspire talented young people to apply for summer apprenticeships at their learning center just outside of London.

After conducting in depth interviews on site with aspiring apprentices, we realized there was another key persona to consider: the parents. Ultimately, the challenge evolved to inform parents and inspire young people to apply and commit to the apprenticeship program.
